Being the General Manager of Amenida Seniors' Community is my ideal job. It allows me to combine my passion for Seniors with my education both in Gerontology and Business Management, and my 20+ years of experience in the hospitality and housing industries. I love coming to work every day and contribute to making the lives of our residents a bit brighter - just as they make mine with sharing their world with me. When residents aren't keeping me busy, I enjoy spending time with my husband, the symphony, sports events and concerts. In my quiet time I love to be in the garden, workout and read.

I have worked at the Amenida Seniors Community for over 19 years in both complex care and supportive housing as the Care Staff Team Leader and Administrative Coordinator. What I love most is being part of the leadership team at Amenida and being able to make the difference. It's the little things that you do for the residents' that count, and am proud to be intricately involved with assisting their health and independence in our community. I am passionate about working with seniors, and strive to continue to make a difference in their lives on a daily basis.
I live with my son in North Surrey. I am an active member and volunteer with Surrey Lacrosse Association for the past 10 years, host the annual Craig Bailey Memorial tournament, and am also responsible for the referee scheduling during the lacrosse season. I also enjoy supporting my favourite sports teams, the Vancouver Giants and Vancouver Whitecaps.
Amenida is not just a building with walls and bricks; it's a home. It's the interaction between people that create this sense of 'Home' and what is created inside our house that becomes our home

I have been with Amenida since June 2011 as a Seniors' housing consultant. New to this industry, my background is in management, sales and marketing and I have been lucky to have worked alongside many members of our community in the non-profit sector. What I love most here is that every day I get to meet new people, hear their life stories and know when a new resident moves into our building I've made a difference in their quality of life by providing a safe and friendly environment.
Newton BC is my home. I have grown up, gone to school, purchased a home, and am now raising our beautiful daughter here. When I'm not working I am at the park, pool, sporting event, concert or at home just baking banana bread.

My name is Summer, and I work at Amenida as the resident community manager specifically with our Korean residents.
I came to Canada nine years ago, after my grandmother passed away in Korea. I was brought up by her after my mother passed away when I was only one years' old. She is the one who made who I am today.
I graduated from McMaster University in Ontario, majoring in Gerontology. As I have always been surrounded by the elderly it was natural for me to work in this field. I am doing my dream job. Almost every day my experiences with the residents is so rewarding.
I love animals, especially calico cats and enjoy watching TV and sleeping while in my spare time.
